Board and Committee Descriptions:
- Co- District Lay Leader- represents and leads the laity within the district fostering awareness of the laity’s role in ministry and supporting their participation in planning and decision making. Their responsibilities include fostering awareness, training and support, lay participation, connectional leadership, advocacy and planning, recognizing lay ministries, supporting organized laity, spiritual leadership, and partnering with clergy.
- District Board of Church Location and Building- reviews and approve or deny local church decisions regarding property, building plans, and ensuring that these decisions align with the broader needs of the district and the denomination.
- District Finance Committee- advises the district leadership on financial matters encompassing financial oversight including budget development, monitoring, and reporting, along with safeguarding district assets and ensuring responsible stewardship of funds.
- District Lay Servant Ministries Committee- plans and supervises programs within the district focusing on developing spiritual leaders and strengthening partnerships between lay and clergy leaders.
- District Leadership Team- This is the primary administration and decision making body overseeing the district governance administration and ministry. Their responsibilities include setting strategic direction ensuring ministries align with the district purpose and overseeing financial health.
- District Committee on Ordained Ministry (dCOM)- This committee plays a critical role in the development and support of clergy within a district. Their responsibilities include evaluating candidates for ordained ministry; Recommends candidates for ordination to annual conference; Provides resources and support for clergy
- District Committee on Nominations- This committee is responsible for nominating individuals to serve on district level boards and committees, as well as for positions in the annual conference. Responsibilities include: identifying and nominating individuals for district leadership roles; works with the district superintendent to ensure a diverse and representative leadership.
- District Committee on Superintendency- support and council the district superintendent in their oversight of the churches and pastors in their district.
